Breast Cancer Services
The Entrepreneurs Foundation (EF) adopted a committee of breast cancer service providers, funders and survivors, facilitating a collaboration that increased the capacity of social services for Central Texas breast cancer survivors and their families. EF helped form the collaboration in March 2006 and supported it financially and with staff through December 2008. Projects included facilitating a continuum of social services for breast cancer survivors, identifying service gaps, integrating existing resources and incubating new programs including a resource guide and meals delivery program. Partners worked in tandem to create a comprehensive assessment of pre-existing breast cancer resources, identify the existing gaps and mobilize resources to create a better continuum of care for breast cancer survivors. Not only has this project improved the standard and quantity of delivered services, but its formula is now a leading model for nonprofits and social innovators.
