Austin Groups for the Elderely
Volunteer Opportunity:
Do you have a couple hours to spare to talk to an elderly person, participate in an activity with them or play a musical instrument? Austin Groups for the Elder runs the only Medical Model Licensed Adult Day Care Center in Travis County.  Every weekday elderly arrive to our safe, stimulating and secure
environment. The peer interaction, daily conversation and activities are important in alleviating depression and isolation.  Adult Day Care prevents premature nursing home admittance.

Our clients love to meet and interact with new people, they love live music performed by the very young to the seasoned veteran. Volunteer on your own or get a small group together from work or church and help us keep our seniors active and
engaged with the community.
Austin Habitat for Humanity

Saturdays are the special day when hundreds of community supporters get together to meet our goal of eliminating poverty housing one family at a time by constructing new homes, participating in Brush with Kindness, and supporting the DeConstruction program. Our volunteers work hard and they need to be fed! We seek lunch providers for groups of 35.  Individuals, groups, and organizations are all welcome to participate!

Feeling destructive? Volunteers are needed for the Austin Habitat for Humanity DeConstruction program. This environmentally focused program diverts hundreds of tons of salvageable building materials from our local landfills and makes affordable home improvement supplies available to the public through our ReStores. No experience necessary, individuals and groups are welcome.
