Friday, May 4th It's time again for the Entrepreneurs Foundation's friends and member companies to come together
and
demonstrate our collective passion for our
community. On Friday, May 4th
employees and teams from our Community of
Entrepreneurs will unite for a one-day
service activity at LifeWorks. Possible
projects include gardening, land
beautification, internal and external
painting, and light construction. Round up
your team of volunteers, download your sign
up sheet from our
website, and
return it Amanda by April 20th! What a great
opportunity to get
out of the office, get to know each other and
have a lot of fun, all while working to do
something

Happiness Ride 2007

The 5th annual Peace Love Happiness Charity Ride is a chance for all
motorcycle enthusiasts to come together with visiting celebrities for a great
ride in the beautiful Texas Hill Country for charity. All proceeds help neglected children at ACS and

Austin Groups for the Elderly

Austin
Groups for the Elderly (AGE) has served the Austin senior
population for
over 20 years. AGE maintains a Durable Medical Lending Closet in which
they loan
out free medical equipment to the elderly. Many items are not covered
by
insurance and they always have a waiting list. The most requested items
are wheelchairs and shower transfer benches. If you would like to donate these items, please contact Amanda.

CanCare Austin

Volunteer Opportunity:
CanCare Austin is excited to announce their recent partnership with St. David's
Community Health Foundation and the Lance Armstrong Foundation to provide
emotional support to those receiving cancer treatment in various St. David's
hospitals in the Austin
area. In addition to hospital service, CanCare also needs volunteers to participate in one-on-one matching with their newly diagnosed cancer patients and cargegivers. Volunteer Opportunity: College-aged and older individuals and
organizations are needed at the Austin Reggae Festival to collect admission
fees at the entrance gate, receive food donations, and thank the public for
their support. Volunteers will also box food donations and load the collection
onto a truck.This two-day festival, formerly the Austin Marley
Festival, brings thousands of reggae fans out to Auditorium Shores
for music, arts and crafts, and fun. The event celebrates the loving spirit of
Bob Marley and his message of peace, tolerance, and non-violent change. Don't

Volunteer Opportunities:
A Community Advocate with Caritas of Austin assists an individual move
toward a stable, self-sufficient life. Caritas provides training and
support for Community Advocate Volunteers. You will be partnered with a
professional social worker. 3-5 hours/week commitment.
Refugee Liaison Volunteer provides support,
consultation and resource referral for the Austin African Association
as the group designs and implements a group that
meets their needs and those of other African refugees of Austin. 6 hours/month commitment.
Website Volunteer: The volunteer will track Caritas website usage statistics and update
website as directed by communications associate. This position can be
virtual if the volunteer has knowledge of and ability to update a
FrontPage website from home. 4 hours/month commitment.

SPAMARAMA, Austin's annual pandemonious potted pork festival, does
its part to "Keep Austin Weird", celebrating its 29th
anniversary on April 7! Join the fun at Waterloo Park,
12:00-6:00pm. Admission is $5; children 12 and under are free when
accompanied by an adult. Proceeds benefits DACT. Volunteers Needed- contact

the Course!
Volunteer Opportunities: The First Tee of Greater Austin has volunteer opportunities
throughout the year in several areas from golf events, to mentoring in
our after-school programs, special events, marketing and more. A golf
background is not required and there is no minimal time commitment.

Foundation Communities is looking for adults that would be willing to visit
with our students to present the Junior Achievement Dollars and $ense curriculum (3rd-5th
grade). Volunteers will meet the after and summer school programming needs of a
diverse group of students by providing engaging, academically enriching, and
experiential learning session in economic education.
Adult Education: Like to Talk? Help adults learning English practice their speaking skills. No
grammar books or even Spanish speaking skills - just be ready to have a
conversation!
Computer Guru: Teach a class or tutor individuals on
basic computer skills.

The
Humane Society of Williamson County is seeking a volunteer IT Administrator/Manager.
They currently have a small
network of nine PCs running Windows 2000 or Windows XP, utilize a Dell
PowerEdge 800 server, and run several
web-based applications for tracking animals, donor and
volunteers. The Humane Society is seeking a volunteer with
network and
computer skills to help them manage their network and be available to
trouble shoot
problems and add/modify equipment as needed.
Estimated commitment: 4-6 hours for initial evaluation of

commit to spending time each week or bi-monthly with their resident and act as
a positive role model
Coach: Marbridge Foundation is seeking male basketball and softball
coaches. Softball runs from June-Oct with practices on Mon, Wed and
Thurs from 6-8pm, and games on Mon and Wed nights.Basketball runs from Nov-May
with practices on Mon, Wed and Thurs from 6-8pm
People who enjoy working with horses and don't mind getting dirty
are needed to assist with our growing equine therapy program. Training
will be provided and days and times are flexible.
Cooking aficionados needed to assist residents in independent
cottages. Help with menu and dietary planning as well as meal

Salsa4Life
is a young adults/adults program that teaches relationship principles
as people have fun learning the basics of salsa dancing. Volunteeers
are needed to assist with preparation, teaching, classes, and clean-up.
Galatia Self Defense
is a youth organization that focuses o building ip your through martial
arts. Volunteers can help the instructor with classroom preparation,
administration and teaching or mentor aa student in and out of the

Project Transitions

Volunteer Opportunity:
Project Transitions will host the
12th annual "Texas Swing" event on June 1 to support
its housing and hospice programs for people with HIV and AIDS. The event will
be held at the Saengerrunde Hall and Scholz Bier Garten. Alvin Crow will be
playing live and there will be Country Swing dancing and BBQ galore!!!
Volunteers are able to enjoy the festivities before and after their
shift. We need volunteers throughout the day: (1)Morning & Afternoon for
set-up & decorating, (2) Evening for various shifts (bartending, table
bussing, silent auction monitoring), and (3) Late in the evening for packing-up
the decorations. Individuals, couples, families and volunteer groups are
welcome!

Celebration, April 20th. Volunteers are
needed in the areas of registration, VIP reception, silent auction, awards, and
general event set-up/break down. Volunteer hours and shifts vary.
Youth Council Retreat, April 22. The American Red Cross of Central Texas will be holding an
all day retreat for our Youth Council which comprises students from local
universities and high schools. Volunteer speakers are needed to present on
topics such as: meeting management, Roberts rules of order, public speaking,
team building, leadership, and customer service. 1:00-5:00pm

to stuff 3,000 goodie bags for the Mighty Texas Dog Walk.
April 3rd, Fish City Grill, S. Lamar & 290, Lunch and dinner
shifts. Fish City Grill is making us their sponsored charity for the day and we
will have a booth set up and registering people for the dog walk.
April 11-13th, Petco at Great Hills, 9:30am-7:00 pm. Packet Pick up for
the THSD Walk, this is where pre-registration people can pick up their goodie
bags before the walk
April 14th, 9th Annual Mighty Texas Dog Walk, Burger Center,
6:00am-1:00pm. Volunteers needed to help set up, break down and assist during
the day of the walk- lots of fun!

Tuesday Evening Volunteer Club. Each Tuesday,
5:00-8:00pm, volunteers of The Wright House Wellness Center gather to compile
prevention education packets (condoms, HIV testing information) which we use in
our HIV prevention outreach programs, personal hygiene packs which are given
during our Food Pantry weeks, as well as other tasks that would benefit our
clients and programs
