Individual Volunteer Opportunties:
The  Arc of the Arts Project is one of the only programs in Texas to  provide art classes and an art gallery for people with developmental disabilities.  Volunteer artists (without disabilities) provide one-on-one art classes and the artist's work is displayed in a socially inclusive setting that is conducive to learning  job skills and increasing self-esteem.

The Arc is looking for volunteers and supporters who would like to share their talent & treasure with some very special artists. Arc of the Arts opens it doors on August the 6th - classes are Wednesday through Saturday 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. 6717 Burnet Road, Austin Texas.

Contact Randi Knight or Adria Dawidczik for more information or visit our website!
Girlstart
Summer Camp starts next week, and Girlstart is buzzing with preparations! You can make your own impact on Girlstart programs by volunteering this summer!
Individual and Group Volunteer Opportunities:
Press Packet Assembly: Girlstart is seeking 2 volunteers to help assemble 20-30 press kits containing current media articles, press releases, and Girlstart brochures. The project involves printing articles and press releases and assembling them chronologically in two-pocket folders according to a sample presskit.
Girlstart Video Volunteers: Girlstart needs B roll footage to use for marketing purposes. We would love your help capturing the awe-inspiring experience that girls have each and every day at summer camp! You can use our video equipment, or if you have high quality equipment, that is even better.
Summer Camp Guest Speakers: *One Hour Project* We are still looking for female guest speakers to spend less than an hour leading our summer campers in an activity that highlights your career! We are in need of professionals in the medical field, any field relating to animals (zookeepers, veterinarians, etc), and any chemistry or physics-related field.
Calling All High School Virtual Volunteers! Girlstart is looking for a few high school girls who are very familiar with and have an avatar in Teen Second Life. We are working on a summer Teen Second Life project and want your input! Volunteer from home or at Girlstart and help us as we plan our first ever virtual teen global awareness event this summer.
June Office Volunteers: Volunteer at Girlstart for a few weekday hours (9am-5pm, M-F)... Activities may include copying, researching, compiling information into a database, gathering supplies, creating goody bags, and more.
Gardening for Girlstart *One Hour Project* We are looking for a few Green Thumbs (or just anyone who can wield a water hose!) to water/weed our yard and flower beds for one hour. You can sign up to come in on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday afternoon anytime this summer.

Contact Zakiyyah Kareem for more information about this June & July volunteer projector visitour website.
