Bill Bock has spent his career building Texas-based technology companies. He currently serves as CFO and SVP for Silicon Laboratories, Inc, a leader in high-performance, analog-intensive, mixed-signal ICs. Bill previously served as a general partner for CenterPoint Ventures and continues to serve on the boards of their portfolio companies, Mirage Networks and iTKO. Previously, as CEO of Dazel Corporation, Bock led the company from early growth through its sale to the Hewlett Packard Company (HP) where he remained as an HP Vice President overseeing both Dazel and HP's Digital Workplace Services business. Before Dazel, Bock was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Tivoli Systems and was instrumental in the company's initial public offering and subsequent merger with IBM. Bock's move to Tivoli followed ten years at Convex Computer Corporation proceeded by the launch of his career at Texas Instruments. He currently serves on the boards of directors for Silicon Laboratories and the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Central Texas. Bock holds a B.S. in computer science from Iowa State University and received his M.S. in Industrial Administration from Carnegie Mellon University.

Recruiting Partner for Austin Ventures

Jeff Browning joined Austin Ventures as Director of Talent in May of 2000 to launch AV's talent initiative. He was named Vice President of the Talent Network in 2001 and elected Partner in 2004. In this role as the partner in charge of recruiting he works with the leaders of Austin Venture's portfolio companies building their executive teams as well as managing the recruiting relationships for the firm. Jeff is also actively involved with our CEO-in-Residence projects and manages all the operational aspects of the program. He has 19 years of high-tech recruiting experience and was previously in Executive Staffing for Dell Computer Corporation.

Jeff serves on the boards of Austin TexChange (President ’05-’06) and the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Central Texas. Additionally, he Chairs the high-tech community’s annual Austin Cup benefiting The Center for Child Protection.

Scott Collier is managing director of Triton Ventures, a venture capital firm investing in spinout and early-stage technology companies, where he identifies, investigates, and negotiates terms for venture capital investments focused on information technology, communications, energy-related technologies, and advanced materials. Prior to joining Triton in 1999, Mr. Collier was vice president of Capital Southwest Corporation, a publicly-traded venture capital firm with over $350 million in assets under management, where he worked with a diverse range of startup, spinout and later-stage portfolio companies. Prior to the venture capital business he worked at the Austin Technology Incubator, identifying and assisting innovative new businesses. Mr. Collier began his career as a design engineer and project manager with Northrop Grumman. He holds a B.S. in aerospace engineering from Texas A&M University and an MBA from The University of Texas at Austin. He also completed the Cal Tech Engineering Management program as well as the Venture Capital Institute's primary and graduate programs.

Mr. Collier has been a guest speaker, panelist and steering committee member for numerous forums on venture capital and has been a guest lecturer for entrepreneurship classes at The University of Texas' McCombs Graduate School of Business and SMU's Cox School of Business. He currently serves on the boards of the Entrepreneurs Foundation and the Texas Business Hall of Fame, and on the advisory board of PeopleFund.

Elizabeth Davis
CEO, Miracle Foundation

Elizabeth is the COO of the Miracle Foundation a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering children to reach their full potential, one orphan at a time. The organization is solely dedicated to helping better the lives of orphans in India. She has over 25 years of Entrepreneurial expertise and her passion is in driving growth through development and execution of innovative strategies, building strong teams and effective utilization of resources.

In 1998, Elizabeth co-founded QuickArrow, a pioneer in the SaaS software segment. The Company provides Internet based application for consulting and professional services companies. She led the company from self-funded start-up through Angel investment and three rounds of funding to profitability. She now serves on the Company’s Board of Directors.

Prior to QuickArrow, she managed and grew professional services practices at Compucom and Paranet, which was purchased by Sprint. Her early start-up experience included Ten X Technology which focused on hardware based computer products.

She holds a BBA in MIS from the University of Texas at Austin. Elizabeth continues to work closely with entrepreneurs and is currently an advisor to Conformity an Austin based start-up. She participates in the Austin Women in Technology Association, TeXchange and is an avid tennis player, serving on the Capital Area Tennis Association Board of Directors.

David is the Chief Executive Officer for Troux Technologies, a leading enterprise software business focused on Strategic IT Planning for Global 2000 companies. David has led Troux since August, 2007 and is responsible for setting the direction and overseeing the operations of the company.

Previously David was the CEO & President of NetSolve. In this position, David was responsible for establishing NetSolve as the leading provider of remote IT infrastructure management services by repositioning the firm and developing and executing a new growth strategy largely focused on IP Communications. This successfully culminated in Cisco acquiring NetSolve in 2004, and David led the company as a division within Cisco.

Hood brings 30 years of experience in developing and managing technology companies. Prior to joining NetSolve, David held senior-level positions in various technology companies. He served as CEO at BeVocal in Mountain View, CA, a venture funded voice recognition software company, which was later acquired by Nuance. David also held executive positions at Dell where he headed Dell’s consumer PC business. Over a 20-year period, David held several executive roles at AT&T, focused on new and emerging technologies.

Active in the community, Hood serves on the University of Texas Performing Arts Center Endowment Board. David holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois and earned an MBA from Xavier.

Paul Hurdlow is a partner in the Austin office of DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary. He represents both companies and underwriters in public offerings, initial public offerings and mergers and acquisitions, in addition to assisting in structuring and negotiating venture investments and strategic partnerships. Mr. Hurdlow also has expertise in the areas of equity compensation and software licensing.

Mr. Hurdlow speaks regularly on topics relevant to emerging technology companies and venture investors, including venture capital and IPO techniques and strategies, strategic partnerships and equity compensation.

Prior to opening the Austin office of Gray Cary, Mr. Hurdlow practiced in the Firm's Golden Triangle office located in San Diego, California. Before joining Gray Cary in 1994, Mr. Hurdlow served as Corporate Counsel of Intuit, Inc. He received his law degree from the University of California, Berkeley, Boalt Hall (Order of the Coif, 1987) where he was Managing Editor of the California Law Review, and his undergraduate degree in economics, with honors, from Berkeley.

David Lee is currently the Chairman, President and CEO of Sentient Fund Management, Inc., Managing Director of Sentient Ventures, and President and CEO of ETI Fund Management Company, which combine to focus on university based technology commercialization and traditional venture capital activities including investments in seed, early, and expansion stage private information technology and life sciences companies based in Texas, Florida, and Oklahoma using both debt and equity financing vehicles.

From August 2000 to February 2002, David was the Managing General Partner of the Austin Office of Murphree Venture Partners, an early-stage venture capital firm focused on life sciences and information technology investments including infrastructure software, telecommunications, and materials. He was Involved as a board member or board observer for 5 portfolio companies and over $30M in financing transactions. David drove the shutdown, packaging, and sale of 2 early stage portfolio companies along with recapitalization of a 3rd company.

From September 1997 to June 2000, David held various senior executive positions and was an officer at Viasoft, a public enterprise software company that developed e-Business solutions designed to simplify the integration of existing systems with the web and related technologies. His roles included President of the $75M corporate fund and Senior Vice-President of the 250 person Products Division including worldwide Marketing, R&D, and Customer Support, associated $100M P&L, and approximately 1200 internationally dispersed Global 5000 customers. Viasoft was acquired by ASG for $152 million in June of 2000.

From December 1993 to August 1997, David was with Tivoli Systems. The company grew from a "start-up" in 1993, to a mid-size public company in 1995, an acquisition by IBM in 1996 for $743M, and annual sales exceeding $1 billion in 1997. His roles included 3rd-line Manager of International Development based in Rome, Italy managing 170 people with the charter of integrating the IBM lab into Tivoli. David began his career as a Software Designer at Tandem Computers.

Jan Lindelow is an active board member of several promising enterprises, primarily in the high technology industry. Lindelow has extensive experience managing global multi-billion dollar businesses as well as smaller, entrepreneurial companies. He focuses on strategic business positioning while strengthening technology and operational capabilities.

Lindelow retired from IBM in 2002 where he had served as Chairman and CEO of Tivoli Systems Inc. since 1997. Prior to joining IBM/Tivoli, he held senior executive positions at Symbol Technologies, Asea Brown Boveri (ABB) and Unisys/Sperry Computer Systems. He joined Sperry in his native Sweden.

Lindelow has an MS in engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. He lives in Austin, Texas and serves on the board of directors of public companies Active Power, Inc. and Vignette Corporation; privately held Credant Technologies, Inc., Hire.com, Inc., HyPerformix, Inc. (Vice Chairman) and Troux Technologies, Inc. as well as the board of the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce-USA (Vice Chairman). Lindelow is also active in the Austin community and serves on a number of civic boards.

Eugene Sepulveda

Eugene Sepulveda enjoys mixing people, organizations and causes-- collaborating with others from business, community and government. Until 2007, he taught community development and cross global/cross cultural business at the University of Texas' McCombs School of Business and previously held positions in Austin's high tech community including as the CFO for a semiconductor company, a consultant and a banker.

Eugene is an active community volunteer, serving on the boards of PeopleFund, the KDK Harman Foundation and the Entrepreneurs Foundation. He's served in many other leadership roles including as Vice Chair for the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce, President of Leadership Austin, Treasurer for the Austin Community Foundation and serves in advisory roles for CIBER Texas, Greenlights for Nonprofit Success and Austin Habitat for Humanity. He's received many awards & recognitions for his community work and teaching, including from Austin Under 40, the Human Rights Campaign, City of Austin and McCombs MBA students.

Phil Siegel, General Partner, has been with AV for nine years and focuses on services investing, with a particular emphasis on the media, information services, financial and business services, and supply chain markets. Previously, Phil spent 11 years with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), most recently as a Vice President, Partner, and Director in the Dallas office. At BCG, Phil developed deep expertise in the financial services and consumer goods and services industries. Phil has started several companies, including Newgistics, the leader in returns management. Phil has led investments in and serves on the boards of All Star Directories, Case Interactive Media, CreditCards.com, HomeAway Vacation Rentals, Newgistics, RT Holdings, and Stull Logistics.

Phil received his MBA and undergraduate degrees from the University of Chicago. Phil served as an adjunct professor in the entrepreneurship department at the University of Texas Graduate School of Business from 1999 until 2002 and at the business school of St. Edwards University. He is currently a professor in the Acton School of Management.

Ellen co-founded vcfo in 1996 and serves as its President and CEO.  Prior to forming vcfo, Ellen served as Executive Vice-President and CFO at Capital Network System, Inc., a privately held international telecommunications company based in Austin, Texas.  Earlier in her career she co-founded a telecommunications business, and served as the Senior Finance Officer for two residential home builders.  A native Texan and graduate of UT Austin, Ellen is also a Texas CPA.

She serves on the Executive Board and is the Treasurer of the Boy Scouts Capital Area Council, on the board of TeXchange, on the Audit Committee for Seton Hospital, and on the Advisory Board of Texas Capital Bank.  Ellen also is a past board member and the past Vice Chairman of Finance for the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce.
